2001 Reserve Cabernet
VINTAGE 2001:
The new and very limited release 2001 Reserve Cabernet is an outstanding example from one of the oldest and proven Cabernet Sauvignon growing regions in Australia Langhorne Creek.
This Reserve wine is blended from a fastidious selection of the best barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon all originating from our Langhorne Creek vineyards. At Bremerton we are in a unique position to keep all parcels of our wine separate from time of picking through fermentation to oak maturation. Following some barrel maturation, each parcel is assessed, and the most outstanding parcels of Cabernet are allowed further maturation before being blended to create the Reserve Cabernet.
It shows a core complexity of fruit ripeness, complimented by brooding earth and chocolate notes. The refined tannin structure provides an elegant composed wine that can be appreciated now or reward with cellaring over the next 10 years
The fruit was fermented in open vats and then matured for 20 months in new French oak. Individual barrels were selected for the Reserve Cabernet, blended and bottled with care. Further bottle maturation before release has allowed for perfectly integrated tannins and amazing flavour development.
