Matilda Plains Shiraz/Cabernet- Export - VINTAGE 2004:These two very Australian red grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz were the perfect choice for the base of this 2004 Matilda Plains red blend. Matilda Plains Winery is located in Langhorne Creek South Australia where Cabernet and Shiraz have been traditionally grown for over 100 years. This wine has been carefully blended to provide us with a generous and well balanced palate displaying mouth filling fruit, complementing soft well-integrated tannins and a lingering finish. The small addition of Merlot to the blend provides a soft and supple mouthfeel. This is enhanced by 10 months oak maturation. The vintage 2004 Matilda Plains Cabernet Shiraz was fermented in Traditional open top fermenters allowing maximum extraction of colour and flavour.
