Our Fortified Shiraz hails from the 1996 Vintage. We were able to secure a luxurious parcel of very ripe shiraz grapes to make this delicious tawny port style wine. The juice is fermented and then neutral spirit added to “fortify” the wine and retain some natural grape sugars. This wine was then stored in old port barrels and carefully watched as it aged gracefully for 8 years developing some lovely rancio characters.
Try it with your favourite cheese plate, great with figs or even as a treat with some fine chocolate.
